The project will start at the intersection of South Road & South Main Street and extends to 163 South Main Street. Access between from Garden Lane to the intersection of South Road & South Main Street will be impacted by the project as described below.

The Town has engaged Colonna Concrete & Asphalt LLC to replace 3 culverts on South Main Street. In addition to the culvert work, Colonna Concrete will also mill and pave 3,000 feet of South Main Street. Due to a delay in getting State authorization, this project has moved from the Summer to the Fall.
During the culvert replacement construction, through traffic on South Main Street will not be available.  All residences will be accessible from one end of South Main Street or the other to your homes. Signs alerting drivers to the address where access is open will be posted on Garden Lane and South Road intersections with South Main Street. Access to homes within the area of road closure for the culvert replacements will be maintained.
The road closure to through traffic will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29th and will not re-open until Tuesday, November 10th weather dependent. The initial road closure will be from 93 South Main Street to 111 South Main Street for approximately 3 weeks. Following that, the road closure will move to between 146 South Main Street and 155 South Main Street for approximately two weeks.
After completion of the culverts, there will be installation of additional drainage improvements along this section of South Main Street. Once finished, milling and paving of the roadway will commence. Due to the late start and possible impacts relating to weather conditions, the milling and paving portion of the project may be delayed until the Spring 2021.

We rely in part on the pavement management update when making decisions on the sequence of road repairs. Other considerations include funding sources available to a subset of roads as well as public safety considerations. Marlborough Pavement Report
