PURA AND DPH REVIEW OF THE APPLICATION OF AQUARION WATER
COMPANY OF CONNECTICUT AND THE TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH FOR
AQUARION WATER COMPANY OF CONNECTICUT TO ACQUIRE THE ASSETS OF
THE TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM

PUBLIC COMMENT HEARING AND HEARING NOTICE
(December 18, 2019 and January 7, 2020)

      On September 13, 2019,  Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut and the Town of Marlborough  submitted  an  application  requesting that  the  Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and  the  Department of Public Health  (together, the  Departments) consent to the  Town of Marlborough’s  cessation  of ownership  with  respect to its  municipal  water system and  approve Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut’s acquisition of assets of the  Town of Marlborough’s municipal water  system. In response, the  Departments are conducting this proceeding to address the issues raised in the application.

      Pursuant to General  Statutes of Connecticut  (Conn.  Gen.  Stat.)  §§16-19e, 16-46, and  16-262n, the Departments hereby announce that a public comment hearing will be  held on  Wednesday, December 18, 2019  at  6:00  p.m.,  at Marlborough Town Hall, Conference Room,  26 North Main Street, Marlborough, Connecticut, for the purpose of admitting public  comments into  the  record  of the  above-cited  proceeding.   In addition, the Departments will hold a public hearing on  Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10:00  a.m. at the offices of the Authority, Ten Franklin Square, New Britain, Connecticut.  The Departments may continue the hearing on additional dates, as deemed necessary.

      Letters  will  be  accepted  from  members  of  the  general  public  who  have   an interest in the outcome of this proceeding through  the last day of the hearing.  The Departments will maintain a file of any letters so accepted in the offices of the Executive Secretary of the  Authority.   The  file may be  reviewed during the  regular office hours of the Authority.
