South Main Street Paving

The Town of Marlborough received a Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grant from the State of Connecticut to improve drainage and repave South Main Street.

The poor quality of the current road is exacerbated by inadequate drainage.  During heavy rain events, water pools on the road and is allowed to seep beneath the surface.  Recent rain events have significantly worsened the road condition.  To ensure that the new road lasts for many years, it is imperative that we address the drainage issues before we repave the road surface.

As we work toward a permanent fix, the Town’s excellent Public Works crew will continue to repair the worst potholes to ensure the road is usable.  Asphalt plants are currently operating. This means our Public Works Department will have a warm mix asphalt, allowing them to continue their important work of making temporary repairs and improvements to our roads.

We are sharing the following anticipated schedule.  We will update this page as we accomplish key milestones and as new information becomes available.
